Eurabia Alert. "Spanish police arrest Islamic terror suspect in Azkoitia," from EiTB24, July 1:

The Interior Ministry says the three men arrested, one in the Basque Country and other two in Huelva, are of Algerian origin and are accused of fundraising for Islamic terrorist activities.

Spanish police say they have broken up an al-Qaida-linked cell and arrested three people, including one person in the Basque town of Azkoitia.

The Interior Ministry says the three men of Algerian origin are accused of fundraising for Islamic terrorist activities.

The ministry says in a statement the suspects were arrested Tuesday in southern Huelva province and in the Basque country. It says there is no evidence the suspects were preparing an imminent attack.

The statement says the arrests were made in collaboration with British authorities. It says these officials knew of the suspects because they had links with other suspected extremists in Britain.

Spain says that since the March 11, 2004 terror attacks in Madrid police have arrested more than 300 Islamic terror suspects.
