I was responding to the bolded part, which says that Intel is at a natural disadvantage re scalability. Intel runs Unix variants and Linux. Is it at a natural disadvantage re scalability when running those?

YES! Even x86 Solaris. BSD comes the closest. *nix on Intel does not scale to the same league as Solaris on Sparc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think so. It's when Intel chips run Microsoft oSs that they are scalability challenged.

No. There's more to it.

Getting a little testy, huh? Your SUNW board here, like so many others, can get that way when a dropper-in doesn't root-root-root for the home team. Couldn't possibly be that you're worried that Sun can't walk on the water forever, could it?

On the contrary, as long as otherwise intelligent investors such as yourself keep showing up here with fundamentally misinformed perspectives, I know there's still plenty of blue sky left for SUNW.
