An analyst that I often read, Mike Bolser has been bearish on oil and commodities a good while now. He publishes Interventional Analysis, and claims the Fed controls oil prices through intervention in the derivatives markets. He has been short USO for a while, and targets low 40 area for cover, at this time. interventionalanalysis.com It's interesting that a record volume was hit yesterday in futures contracts for oil and some other basic commodities. I take it all with a grain, but certainly wouldn't be buying USO until at least some signs of a bottom appear. In fact I had to escape my VLO leaps at the same time ECA and PTEN were liquidated as they looked awful then and look awful now. Leaps can be great long term plays, but when the stocks deteriorate there still has to be a cut off imo.
