This is encouraging. MSFT doing business with Amex, BoA, Schwab, and CitiGroup, all huge players in the financial industry. A few years back many in the banking industry shunned MSFT, fearing they planned to open an on-line bank (this due to the Gates "dinosoar" comment which he says was misinterpreted). WSJ: Microsoft Recruits More Firms For Its MoneyCentral Web Site interactive.wsj.com "Microsoft announced Wednesday that American Express Co.'s American Express Financial Advisors, Bank of America Corp., Charles Schwab Corp. and Citigroup Inc. have become "premier financial providers" on the site, meaning they will appear prominently on MoneyCentral's main page and offer financial data and services to viewers. Merrill Lynch & Co. signed on last fall." [...] "Mr. Punishill said the deals could pave the way for consumers to receive their personal-account data from institutions such as Bank of America and Schwab via Microsoft -- a goal a top Microsoft official has endorsed. Many Internet portal sites, as well as big financial companies, would like to be the one place on the Web consumers go to do most or all of their financial business. Some are also trying to aggregate consumer financial data to offer all-in-one net-worth statements."
