With the tawdry attempt at election theft through these phony manual recounts, and now the organized (and apparently successful) effort to disenfranchise a large percentage of the ballots of military citizens serving overseas, Al Gore has virtually destroyed any claim to a legitimate presidency. Should he win, a large percentage of the nation-perhaps a majority-will be unable in good conscience to consider him their president. Any post-election talk about "coming together and uniting behind the new administration" will be a tasteless joke. The resultant damage to the country over the next 4 years would make any patriotic and respectable politician concede rather than bring that about. Unfortunately neither Al Gore, his people, nor very many of his supporters qualify as either respectable or patriotic...
