Has there been any studies done regarding the probability of a bullish alert going higher (vs lower)? For example, do triple-top breakouts have a greater percentage of stocks that go up than double tops, or quadruple tops, or ascending top breakouts? IOW, can one statistically rank the various bullish and bearish signals available in the order of there probability of going higher/lower?

I know P&F has been around a very long time and it seems reasonable to assume that there has been some published work concerning these issues. Anyone know of any in-depth studies, or perhaps not so "in-depth" and perhaps personal, on-going studies?

TIA,

HT
