Putting it out there is a model for how one foreign policy expert and observer thinks it could be done. As I said the other day, these crises draw armchair QBs (usually out of power) by the sackful. It is also intended to increase pressure on Bush to try some creative and effective diplomacy instead of giving "birth" to a new Middle East behind IDF bombing raids, however justified those strikes might have been in self-defense. Gelb is trying to move the situation to another level. At the end of the day, however, it's just another op-ed that doesn't survive more than a couple of news cycles.
