You know the survey was commissioned by the British military. I'm sure they signed off on it's design and methodology. Do you think they were after partisan conclusions to support a political position, or, as honest an answer as they could get with their troops well being in mind? I'd guess the latter.

Well the first comment would be that it is sort of amazing how few of this type of survey (what does the average Iraqi think about X) are being done, or at least are being written about. As for this particular survey in question, my point is the conclusion may not match the question (or it may match it exactly). And the implication that 82% of Iraqis want foreign troops to leave yesterday is hard to believe. As I said (and for some reason am getting on another ignore list) if it were true, then the current interim government could ask troops to leave and the US has said if asked, we will. The next government in December could also ask the coalition to leave.

The fact that that request has not been made makes it hard for me to believe it is the request of 82% of the Iraqi population.
