what about the n400 is that a good phone? Is there difference between phones and reception in weaker areas?

The main difference between the N400 and A500(aside from the price) is the color display. The A500's is much better, it is a TFT screen. To compare reception, you almost need to take one of each and test them out in problem areas. There are quite a few newsgroup posters who are taking their old phone and their new A500 and doing just that. The A500 seems to be faring well, some say better, some say worse.
