More than ever they tend to think that the public has a right to know only what the top guns think is worth telling them. But now, having said less than he should have last fall, Bush is going to have to say more than he wanted to this summer—and, perhaps, for the rest of his presidency."

The more serious problem is that Junior as titular president will have serious problems answering any questions of any complexity, and will have to delegate more, if the news people won't let him just issue platitudes about "terrer". For that reason, Cheney & Bush Senior are hoping for something serious to crop in the world, quick.
