regarding falling knives - i purchased starter positions in PTEN and BJS. Both are dependent on NA drilling which is near it's peak probably. There is certainly some short term pain ahead but both stocks are cheap and generate lot's of free cash flow unlike many of their customers.

S which I (unfortunately) still own is coming into the buy range again. Problems are well known but despite the issues, S is supposed to generate 4B$ in pre tax FCF next year (10% yield on the current market cap). This should make S very attractive to private equity or a strategic buyer like Comcast which like to broaden it's services. I intend to buy more on further weakness.
