Wow! Obviously been out of touch for a while (busy summer).
Peter,
PLEASE NOTE I tried to post this originally as response to Savani but I don't think it took, (is that because Savani is a trial member?), AND EVEN THOUGH I HAVE MAJOR MISGIVINGS ABOUT THE CONSOLIDATION, THE PERSONAL REMARKS WERE DIRECTED AT SAVANI, NOT YOU. My trust in BCB's credibility still holds, but will only continue to do so, (or not), with near to mid-term BCB actions.
This, then is a response to posting 204 (yes, 204) and many subsequent: Let me say that I've had personal contact with Speller, and Savani's assessment is bang on! In fact Speller has since touted BCB at least twice more in Investor's Digest. After my experience with him and ID, I will not be renewing my sub - in my opinion, they just can't be trusted. I never did get a response from ID when I complained even after threatening to cancel. Interesting to note they keep sending renewal notices - ya right!
Looking back at all these messages, some of the comments are incredible. Here's my spin:
Savani, while I can't condone your rude postings (what is it? - do you feel by insulting people making unsubstantiated accusations and, in general being most inconsiderate, that you will get what you want? what is that anyway?), my gut definitely does say the consolidation is not good. I think everyone understands the math - before and after value is the same - on paper. However, history tells us we are now being set up for more dilution - so consolidation can easily lead to a decrease in value. I agree with you that for every success story like Clublink, on the down side, I can counter with 10 William Resources.
The positive spin being put on this is: "Ya, but we are doing this from a position of strength." That position being company defined - a tad subjective (but still more valuable than Speller's and ID's). Sorry, don't see it, and doesn't cut it with me - again my gut talking - been here before, done that, bought the T-shirt. Time will tell, and I'm going to give it some.
All of the above notwithstanding, I'm now going to do a 180 and agree with Mike. I like what I see and hear from BCB and intend on holding on. Maybe this is only because I don't have much choice.
Let's be civil out there....
JJ
