NATO forces have a reinforcement and escalation capability far beyond the IDF if they are attacked. Also, even Hezbollah wants to maintain the sympathy and support of some NATO members, so attacking their troops is more problematic, especially if there is large French participation, for example. That's why no US troops will be in the danger zone itself.
