I find men sometimes to be more emotional about love, and less calculating and predatory, than women.

Possibly because love and the choice of who to love have traditionally been a woman's means to an end, rather than ends in themselves. Men have had the option of material advancement on the basis of their own efforts, and thus the freedom to explore more - which they have unfortunately constrained by any number of self-inflicted emotional oddities.

Unfortunately, we always seem to pursue resolution of the male/female equation by fighting over who's wrong and who's right, instead of trying to figure out why we're all so fucked up and how we can unfuck ourselves - or at least how to spare our children from the burden of the stereotypes we grew up with.
