NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today began
trading the common stock of Crystallex International Corporation (AMEX: KRY),
a Canadian-based gold and mining exploration company.
"The American Stock Exchange is recognized by global investors as a
leading market for the shares of international mining and mineral companies.
Trading Crystallex on the Exchange will improve our market presence and
provide greater liquidity for investors," said Marc J. Oppenheimer, President
and CEO.
Crystallex Corporation, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, is
actively engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral
properties. The company holds interest in several properties in Bolivar
State, Venezuela, as well as sixty-five percent interest in the Mineiro
property in Brazil.
Crystallex's strategy for growth is to develop its portfolio of properties
in South America as well as to diversify geographically by investing in
producing or near-production projects and by exploring properties of merit in
other areas of the world.
Trading under the ticker symbol KRY, the stock opened at 5-1/8 on
5,000 shares. J. Streicher & Co. has been selected as the specialist unit for
the new listing. Crystallex International Corporation currently trades on the
Toronto Stock Exchange and will continue to do so after today's listing on
AMEX.
The American Stock Exchange is the second largest U.S. Stock exchange and
