OT: Succumbing to dreams/hype, I've taken a small exploratory position in FSTR. The open secret is:

"...the company's 13.4% stake in the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad. DM&E has applied for $2.5 billion in federal funding for four projects, including a 900-mile extension of the railroad's line into Wyoming's Powder River Basin coal fields and an upgrade of existing lines to handle coal train traffic.
'If they get the permits to do this it's going to be a major event for the company...'"

Meanwhile, FSTR has a real business. While demand for railroad infrastructure improvement should continue (the railroads showing profits and so should have monies for capital improvements (FSTR business)), the stock isn't that attractive to me solely on a value basis (by the metrics I use). Additionally, I see insider selling, but not open market buys, and that's not so comforting. So just a very small bet for me.

The article also mentions IAR. I've received a few shares of that one from its spin out from VZ. Looking to add more IAR if the stock will drop back under $28 on no adverse news.
