DISH target is open-ended. Like MFNX and WCOM, I bought DISH because it is working on a "pipe" which will be ever more important in the virtual-cyber-wired world. It also lets me tick off that little box called "Broadcasting" in my portfolio diversity list.

All these companies which own a network of some sort - WCOM, DISH, MFNX and VRIO - how do we place a fair value on them? Current subscribers, free cash flow, use growth, advertising.....? The accounting gets pretty complex. So I am following more basic instincts on "what will be important in five years". FOX could be replaced as a programmer; DISH is now one of just a few DSB companies.

I would welcome more comment on this whole topic from anyone who follows the sector closely.
