Ed,
Since CBS advertising is primarily domestic, I believe that their advertising could actually increase as firms focus on the one strong market in which to sell. If sales are dropping overseas, would you try to push thme up in the US, or pull back on advertising and risk a drop in the US market as well.

Mel's recent comments about no drop in advertising seem to support this theory.

Now, that said, I checked Zacks, and the following consensus estimates in the last 7 days actually declind by a penny for the next couple quarters. 1999 FY went up 2 cents.

However, analysts recommendation (average) declined from 1.5 to 1.42 in the last week as well, a positive. (1.0 is strong buy)

Go figure.
