NYSE pays out $139m to Richard Grasso

Excerpt:

Richard Grasso, the chairman and chief executive of the New York Stock Exchange, was paid a lump sum of $139m in deferred compensation and his contract was extended to 2007, the NYSE said on Wednesday in an unprecedented move to disclose the compensation of its leadership.

The sum is more than the exchange's combined net income for the last three full years. The NYSE said it consisted of $40m from an executive savings plan, accrued retirement benefits of $51.6m, and $47.9m relating to previous incentive awards.

LOL! This is all laughable. Incentive awards for what? "Presiding" over the mauling bear market conditions experienced over much of the last 3+ years? LOL.

Please. I'm sure this $on-of-a-beeotch was one of the many celebrating wildly as we witnessed planes flying into buildings almost 2 years ago. Those catastrophic sights only registered as potential dollar signs in his corrupt little eyeballs, along with all of his little political buddies and corporate chums who enjoy greasing the palms of those on the take. -ng-

Bottom line? It's an insiders world.
