RADICCHIO MEMBERSHIP GROWS AS NEW INDUSTRY LEADERS JOIN THE GLOBAL INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE SECURITY IN WIRELESS E-COMMERCE

RADICCHIO MEMBERSHIP GROWS AS NEW INDUSTRY LEADERS JOIN THE GLOBAL INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE SECURITY IN WIRELESS E-COMMERCE

LONDON, Dec 22, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Eight leading
companies providing solutions for secure wireless e-commerce announced
today that they are joining Radicchio, the global initiative to unleash
the potential of wireless e-commerce.

Radicchio was launched in September 1999 with Sonera SmartTrust,
Gemplus and EDS (Electronic Data Systems) as initial members, supported
by Ericsson, which has subsequently joined the initiative. The new
members are 724 Solutions, Certicom, Geoworks Corporation, Infineon
Technologies, InterClear Service Ltd, Minick AG / Distefora, mobile
solutions AG and Setec.

Promoting PKI based security Radicchio was created to enable a dynamic
global market for secure wireless e-commerce. The initiative promotes
the use of an environment based on a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI),
allowing secure electronic transactions to take place over wireless
networks.

Radicchio raises awareness of the opportunities presented by secure
wireless e-commerce through the expansion of its membership. As a
consortium of the industry's leading wireless e-commerce companies,
Radicchio will persuade international regulators & government bodies to
accelerate the adoption of legislation which supports secure wireless
e-commerce globally.

Worldwide co-operation and leadership Radicchio is well on its way to
becoming the industry voice and authority for PKI enabled secure
wireless e-commerce. The members now include certification authorities,
mobile operators, systems integrators, device manufacturers and
software companies.

Radicchio is now looking to recruit further members. A conference
entitled "Wireless e-Commerce - Clearing the Road for Global
Expansion," exclusively sponsored by Radicchio, will take place on
13-14 January 2000 in Olympia Conference Centre in London, England.
Companies and organisations interested in membership and the conference
should visit Radicchio's Website at www.radicchio.org
