Cutting off a "loser" in the family is an extremely tough decision to make. Keep in mind that some don't ever bounce back from rock bottom and for others rock bottom means a successful suicide. Knowing that you were doing the right thing by cutting somebody off is little comfort when faced with the fact that this person is now dead and will never come to appreciate that you were being harsh because you loved them.
