In reply to Springer's remarks: BTW, IMO Charlie is not a bad CEO. He's a pretty shrewd guy. . Charlie is a visionary. snip He sees the future of GPS and Trimble and is putting money to make sure that Trimble stays on Top.
No doubt that Charlie is a kick-ass engineer, entrepreneur, and visionary. He will insure that GPS technology gets developed into mainstream products, instead of some dinky niche. I have no doubt that he will spend whatever it takes of his and our company's money to bring GPS to fruition. (Investor's note: My negative remarks have been cited as a contrary indicator in the past) Unfortunately, it will be a while, if ever, that we as shareholders will see any decent return. One must trade this stock on the hype and sell before reality of getting an emerging technology off the ground sets in. Arun, Skip, Rubble, and myself discussed Trimble's potential and lack of performance quite a bit a year or so ago. What has changed since then? They still have too high manufacturing costs, can't quite get those big lucrative orders, and still continue to disappoint. Great technology, lousy investment. I was suprised to hear that Arun was trading this stock, I thought he was a die-hard buy and hold for TRMB. At least he has been able to make a few $$ off of this company. |
