Intel's closing price for 1996 was 130.9375. It currently is at 149.625. This is an increase of 14.2% Also keep in mind that some of us have HUGE gains and must consider capital gains taxes when considering selling. While Intel has underperformed the DOW ytd a 14.2% gain for 6 months is not a bad return for most people.

Additionally, Intel remains a compelling long term investment. I believe many on this thread are millionaires or close to it largely because they invested in Intel.

I haven't lost out on other stock increases, I merely leveraged by going on margin to buy and then sell other stocks. So I completely disagree that the last six months has been wasted. You indicated that you made and lost money on Intel over the past year. It's interesting that individuals who bought and held long didn't lose anything isn't it? By the way, need a good tax accountant?
