To be fair, it takes time to change these things... you average science teacher teaches other stuff too, and is how old? Tough to keep up with these things...+ How much do they make? How underfunded are schools and education? The lack of priority in education is quite astounding actually. It's become almost dark humor.

More likely the conservatives attracted to creationism... OTOH, we won't mention conservative vs liberal as it pertains to spending on education and all that. :))
