Mr. Bean: When two products that satisfy the same "need" for entities, individuals, or consumers in general, sit side by side on a shelf, in a catalog, or are otherwise "choices," there are forces which propel the choice, and it isn't always logic.
The "Microsoft Barrier" is not a physical one, due to the sheer numbers of unit out there, but a psychological one that causes the "choosers" to choose Microsoft because:
1. The computing community has the perception that its best to buy Microsoft's Suite if you have a Microsoft O/S. Of course, nearly everyone does. (I wonder how that happened.)
2. They do have good products, not THE BEST.
3. Prestige of the name "Microsoft," and the awe of GATES. The masses seem to like to do what everybody else is doing, or feel a part of the "going thing," or just a part of something exciting, or big.
Create a hole in that "psychological dyke" and the prospects for Corel's suite sales can change. I do have thoughts for a detailed plan of action, should I post it?
Hoping for a better day, its Up, Up, & Away!
