What do you mean by yikes, do you think that 4.3% is bad because it is too low? If you do then don't you believe everyone that wants to work should be able to? Are you worried that Greenspan might raise interest rates because too many people are working and corporate america will need to call it all in with higher prices? The ones that always pay are those that end up unemployed and the small businesses that get force out.

I think it's time to re-evaluate our economic system and have nice steady growth without all the ups and downs in inflation and unemployment. My suggestion for controlling inflation is to fight it
at the real source, corporate greed. I think instead of using interest rates to control inflation they should use a corporate/business tax based on inflation. For example set a Corportate/Business tax rate of say one half of what it currently is but then multiply that by the inflation rate. So if the current tax rate is say 20% then the new rate would be 10% X inflation rate. That way as long as business self regulates itself and keeps inflation under 2% they'll actually pay less taxes.
