Trustee for BRE-X bankruptcy apparently did not understand that stockholders are automatically creditors (behind all other creditors) if they own part of the company. Also any residues have to be distributed. Theoretically, you do not have to register, unless they did not keep all stockholders' names at the registrar and transfer agent for BRE-X stock.

Maybe the trustee has to sue the registrar and transfer agent as well?
