I think, Suma, that if you read my post you will see that I didn't attribute those statements to you, although it was clear that you agreed with them.

Although I might not be of the advanced years that you brag about, I've followed Rather for about the past 40+/- years and have found him to be arrogant and biased (subtlely, of course). The National Guard fiasco was a logical progression and faux pas for somebody who has relentlessly shown his political adversaries in a negative light, while beaming about those with whom he agrees. You can hear it in the tone of his voice, and you can see that it is pervasive throughout the news organization he heads. A guy with an ego like his obviously wanted to go out with a "bang," although not the one that occurred.

I've owned stock in the company he works for since before VIA bought it, and have a financial interest in its credibility and success. I don't see him as a particularly valuable asset, given his consistent third-out-of-three placement and dwindling, aged audience. He should have been given the heave-ho awhile ago, imho.
