Well if a company offers shares to settle a lawsuit it wouldn't be free would it? Anything can be offered and if Ampex thinks Mitsu is worth the investment then they may prefer that. But with the Japanese market as bearish as it has been in the last few years I would hope they say no. Unless Mitsu is an exception or it is ADR's they are offering. Did you understand this was their offer?

As for as Warrents they are basically long term options and are excersized in the same maner. That is they are a contract to buy at a price (Strike price with options). With warrents the strike price can vary and I think the terms can vary from the standard options contract. If you are buying options you can contact the CBOE or other options market to find out all of the specifics. But with warrents I think you have to contact the company who issued them.
