Hello John

If you are at the PDAC you might try asking at the booth and see if who ever is there will give you a sample. It really won't help too much as the only way to really tell is to have the garnets you find probed at a reputable lab.

Peridotitic G-9's & G-10's tend to be deep violet/purple and eclogitic garnet tends to be quite orange, but as you know as a prospector, garnet is a very common mineral and if you have found beds of it, I would not get too excited until you have it probed.

On the other hand, if you find garnet in association with bright (Kelly)green semi-transparent crystals then you might start to get a little moist under the arms.

Hello Valuepro

Since the diatremes are very large and quite visible in Uraguay, I have to assume that SUF did the deal with Crystalex because they did not think the amount of time and money needed to be spent checking all the pipes was likely to result in an outstanding economic source. I would not get too excited about that particular play, but who knows. How was the PDAC? SUF's booth?

Hello Peter

While it is warming up, it is not as warm as it has been in past springs. In addition, there is a very good snow pack down here this spring, which I suspect will lengthen the good ice by about a week. All that snow reflects a great deal of sun light and does not really allow things to heat up until large amounts of land and water are exposed.

Its a bit too early to call which way the spring will go. I would not get too concerned as yet. About the second to third week of April will be the time to tell just how much time the ice will be good for. Until there is a strong indication then, I would not get too hung up.

Good Luck
