JENGQ The Texas power grid issues are a subject taken up by the Biden Infrastructure bill... an indirect potential benefit for Texas providers that's worth keeping an eye on... as it will relieve the industry of self funding corrections and upgrades that are required... but, note, appears it does so without forcing any changes in the failed management, to fix the obvious problems in the way Texas manages the industry... which is less useful.

Far too soon to tell what might come of it, or how it might impact the residual elements burdening Texas providers, but, it may extend to reach there, as it get funneled through the usual filters of local legislative graft and corruption in implementation that typically attaches to Federal transfers...

In relevant part from the Houston Chronicle:
The infrastructure bill could also help pick up the tab — if not cover completely — the cost of weatherizing Texas’ power grid, which state lawmakers are so far requiring the industry to cover. Consumer advocates have warned those costs would then be passed down to consumers.

So far the White House has not detailed specific projects, but the plan calls for $100 billion to be spent on energy projects, including upgrades to electrical grids. Webber said given that Texas accounts for about 8 percent of the U.S. population and 10 percent of the GDP, a proportionate slice of that $100 billion would cover the estimated $8 to $10 billion price of weatherizing the grid.
