Three Russians and one Ukrainian who shot down MH17 will be tried in the Netherlands next year for shooting down the Malaysian Air passenger jet with a Russian BUK missile. Three of the four are officers in the Russian military. The four mass-murderers are not expected to show up for their trial.

After the disappearance of MH17, a social media account linked to Girkin claimed responsibility for shooting down a Ukrainian military aircraft in the area. A video published by News Corp Australia a year later showed Russian-backed rebels arriving on the scene to discover it was a Boeing 777 civilian flight, packed with hundreds of tourists on their way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

"Prosecutors will today send their indictments to the Russian Federation, so the government can notify the suspects of the charges against them."

TOP: Col. Igor Girkin, aka Igor Strelkov, and Sergey Dubinsky, Girkin's Deputy in the GRU and now better known for interfering in the 2016 presidential election

BOTTOM: Oleg Pulatov, a Spetsnaz GRU special forces soldier, and Leonid Kharchenko aka Krot, the sole Ukranian murderer
