Are Australian Engineers Smarter Than US Engineers? 3 minutes ago Anarchy,
I know you have more knowledge about engineering and power plants than I ever will. I am hoping that you can help me with a question that has come into my mind.
On several messages you have mentioned White Energy Company as the clear choice of coal producing companies in Indonesia. I have read limited information about their process and company.. What I have found is that they commissioned their first 90,0000 TPY plant in May of this year. The plant is located in Australia.
whiteenergyco.com.
I don't think they have any independent test results from that plant yet, but it sounds as it their product is similar to K-Fuel. It also sounds as if the process they are using is very similar to that used in making K-Fuel, heat and pressure. I would assume the engineering problems will be similar as well. When K-Fuel is produced 50 gallons of polluted water is extracted from each ton of coal and it would seem as if that would be the case for White Energy as well.
Now the question. If White Energy can solve the water treatment problem with their engineering department do you think EEE and Bechtel could do the same thing? I am asking this question because it has sounded as if the water treatment problem at Gillette was one of EEE's major production problems. I am sure there were other problems as well and of course I would be interested in your opinion as to the ability of American Engineers solving those additional problems as well. If you are correct about White's success at refining coal it would make sense that other competent engineers could as well.
I am not saying that White has solved any problems, because I can not find out any information as to the success or failure of their first plant.
They have started construction on a second facility, this one being in Indonesia. I think that speaks to the question of a power company signing a contract with a coal refining company that has or has not had a successful record in producing product. It is clear that White Energy has started a plant in Indonesia prior to commercially producing one pound of product.
I do think the case of White Energy speaks volumes about the world demand for K-Fuel. The coal production in Indonesia is important to the Asian Continent and will be a major supply to that fast growing area for many years to come. I am sure more than one coal refining company will be involved in the development of the coal fields of Indonesia, just as there are many oil refineries in the world. The fact that White Energy has started construction on a plant in Indonesia also speaks to the question of power plants wanting cleaner coal and not wanting to use the older system of capturing the pollutants in smoke stacks. Your direction to this company gives me more confidence in EEE's future.
Thanks,
Looking forward to you response,
Will
