Unicom. OK Ben, Divide the 1.2MM Unicom Hong Kong CDMA subs claimed as of 7/31 by their 0.7 to 0.7 market share and you get the 2.0 MM CDMA subs claimed by Mother Unicom as of Aug 15.

chinanex.com

Add to that the earlier claim of 35,000/day (or apx 1.0MM CDMA subs/month) new CDMA subs being added and you can project as many as 4.5MM more CDMA subs added from Aug 15 to Dec 31 giving as many as 6.5 MM total Unicom CDMA subs by 12/31/2002.

Soo those Credit Swiss and USB analysts that see an imbalance between QCOM ASICS shipped and CDMA phones added are wrong as they just never had a handle on new subscriber adds. Morgan Stanley is right in its analysis. QCOM mgt whose projectionsf for the Sept and Dec quarter were very upbeat is vindicated.
