Looks like Ashcroft's terror alert was phony.
Many law enforcement people are being quoted as saying none of it's new, just old news, and no special alert.
In other words, this was just a political distraction and more BS from the Bushies. They're uysing counter-terror for domestic political purposes to try and change the subject from Bush's failures, lies and slumping poll numbers.

Also new negative Bush ad out today I notices. More complete lies, quoting conservative critics of Kerry as if they're credible. Calling him "the most liberal in the senate". What hogwash. Howard Dean supporters called Kerry "Bush lite" because he was too conservative for them.
Obviously Kerry is a centrist.
