One key to successful AXC strategy: The development of viable HSM (hierarchical storage management) software by Computer Associates. This was announced last week. AXC is expected to ship "virtual disk" products in the second half of 1996. This would enable AXC to once again reduce the costs and increase the performance of tape/disk mass data storage systems.
