Hi Mark:

Network hardware company: Ascend is big in ISDN modems, hardware etc. I think ISDN will be big soon, but I don't know how reasonable it's priced.

GE is a very well run company as long as Jack Welch is around.

My company just hired an ex-g.e. guy named John Blystone who was with Power systems in Florence Italy (Nuvo Provone?). Ever hear of him? (Sharp guy behind lots of sharp people at GE.)

As for advice for novice, learn about stop losses and use them religiously. Study the history of the stock market with special emphasis on the highly speculative runs such as the late 20's and 60's. What's the saying, "those who don't learn from history are damned to repeat it."
