Keith:

Good comments.

Unfortunately, investors, both as individuals and through their mutual funds, have funneled truly staggering amounts of money into box builders' (or should I say "assemblers") stock. As well, equally stunning amounts have flowed into the semis, which makes no sense, but there it is.

Like you, I think the Sony boys do excellent R&D and truly love many of their products. I also agree with your perception that Sony has done a fabulous jog of integrating products. But when the cops raid the house of ill repute, the piano player et al are dragged to the wagon. This market is just starting to puke up all the stupidity it has digested over the past few years. I worry that in the process, good companies will be bashed along with the deserving pigs.

For me, comfort for the next several months will be found on the short side of the game. Why? I hate risk and think that the easiest route for most stocks to follow is down, particularly as the economy continues to slow. If I had to own a stock, I'd probably be a cohort of yours in Sony.

Best, Earlie
