Well I'm back on with my 600 and everything seems to be working fine and I didn't have to format my HD. I'm not sure exactly what cured my problem, I tried so many different things. I used a reg. repair program, extracted files from my OS CD, used my recovery disk, and many other things. I ended up losing my original desktop and email folders but all my other programs and files seem to be left intact. Now for the next challenge I'm going to put in a new HD and DVD rom into my PIII 1 Gig. I may be back for more help later. KC
