<scratched Zeigler Coal off> J, don't be too quick to dismiss Zeigler Coal, ZEI.N (grin) its an attractive security in its own right, as the profile at biz.yahoo.com might suggest. They're into using the Net to auction-sell power, made from the coal at their own power plants right on top of the mines. Instead of shipping that heavy, dusty coal to other's power plants, they convert it to power onsite and ship light, clean electrons, sold using the Net to the highest bidder. Selling at a 12 PE, its seen 6 Mo earnings up 22% in the past six month period.
So, hey ... there you go, an electronic commerce play, with a boost from electrical utility deregulation.
