Windows Media Player 'Super Cookies' Could Help Track Users newsbytes.com According to the April,2002 issue of PC World the Windows Media Player problem can be overcome by disabling this tracking function. In WMP versions 6.4 through 7.1 select Tools,options, and then deselect "allow internet sites to uniquely identify your player."
