Tell you what. Go to the library and check out one of his recent books. Like the run up to the Iraqi war, to just take one at random. Don't buy it, you will regret giving him the royalties. Read it and decide for yourself whether or not it is a puff piece.

And you are right about that. Too many journalists are willing to compromise their readers by doing these puff pieces. I am sure they justify it to themselves by the fact they get access, but it is no favors to the public.
