Do you know if the $263 mil. is the actual amount being asked for by Bristol? The news stories I've seen suggest it is. I wonder if that amount would be tripled as happens with jury awards in many (most?) antitrust suits. $789 million gets into the uncomfortable range.

But even if the amount is tripled, I agree that the greater damage would come from having that verdict hanging over them -- especially one from a jury that's less susceptible to review on appeal. (Awards are often reduced, but the courts are less likely to overturn the jury's verdict on the facts.)
