What do you think of the Sharon bribery scandal, Nadine? Think it can sink him?

I don't know, Derek. These corruption scandals are a perma-feature of Israeli politics; Bibi and Ehud had theirs too. I have a sneaking suspicion that the prosecutor doesn't have the stuff for an indictment (the explanations of what the bribe was supposed to be for are as hard to follow as the Whitewater charges), but is waving the prospect of an indictment around to extract maximum political effect. I notice that the newspapers are trumpeting the polls where a majority of Israelis say that if Sharon is indicted he should resign, but I suspect that the majority of Israelis are also waiting to see if an actual indictment shows up.
