Dennis,
Obviously you know the specifics of the problems at the stratosphere. Supposedly there are some rumors circulating about the possibility of the Stratosphere not even opening due to all of the problems. Of course, rumors are what they are, and many seem to have come by way of AOL's Motley Fool bulletin boards, so could just be more poor guessing fools. Anyway, with the new DW store now up and running quietly, the business there appears to be hefty. A friend up that way stopped by to take a look, and the waiting list after 8PM was still well over an hour. Sure makes the Grand Opening sound nice, given the fact that very few people appear to realize it has even opened yet, although the fact that some people obviously are aware may have driven the price a little today? The sun was out, but it sure was nice to know it was RAINing. DANB continues to waffle, however, closing today just under 22 at 21 and 7/8. If you're interested in getting in this one at all, it may be worth watching over the next few months as the desire to put more in RAIN after DW with hopefully rapidly escalting share prices dwindles. With little news, it may waffle its way a little lower yet with likely good growth over the next few years. I guess that all will be stable for a few weeks, but I can't imagine with election season approaching that the market won't have a little more in droppage yet ahead before it truly stabilizes and starts putting some of the weight back on. BTW, was that stuff you dug up on KINN from recent reports? I wasn't able to find that they had yet reported their quarterly earnings, although I know their last quarter was pretty darn nice for a company that's still digging itself out of its hole from last year. If you have a little time, you may truly want to investigate ATIS. It seems to have gotten little attention thus far, and its prospects are extremely bright with some big financial prospects over the next 1-2 years with a few of the usual FDA risks of biotech. However, the sponsorship has quietly increased according to the IBD, and their products are likely to be unglamorous but very needed with excellent demand and an extremely large market with no competition....bioengineered skin for diabetic foot ulcers. With med being my area, the potential for this one is enormous, and its price has become reasonable again simply due to the obvious market pressures. If you're at all interested in more details, let me know. After all this is a forum for edibles, and skin doesn't exactly aid the appetite. For the assistants, I hear Galoob's prospects look good for continued big earnings, and Tyco may be the risky shot for the big turnaround with decreased losses and lots of new products coming out this 1/2. I may get to DANB on Sunday. If so, I'll pass on how it looked business-wise. Hope it's a restful non-volatile no markets running weekend for you.
