That might be the case in a romp, like Bush's dad's war. But this might not be a romp. The US-led invasion will likely have an easy time of it in the Iraqi countryside. However, if Saddam's troops concentrate in Baghdad and team themselves next to a 5 million-plus strong non-military citizenship, I don't think they'll be any such thing as "friendly fire." We could see: a) an extremely bloody slaughter of people, both theirs and ours; or, b) a city under a longlasting seige should the US decide not to move in to capture (or kill) Saddam. Both scenarios will not be viewed as friendly by future historians.
