Incredible this hinged on one error. Someone out there in internet land ought to start and maintain a reliability index for all modes of data delivery (Internet, Satellite, FM etc.) It would help differentiate the value of products delivered by each one. Seems like the value in proprietary networks are ingnored until an event (be it low in probability) occurs. It's human nature to forget these low frequency events unless daily reminded by some factor. Wonder how many important decisions were disrupted by this. I think this idea is very fundemental and am quite surprised nothing has not been provided like this yet by at least by the same gov. geniuses that launched the internet superhighway knowing it would be used by many as a replacement to more reliable and proven infrastructures. The internet is great, but it sure would be nice to know it's reliablity as it compares to other means. JP
