the people who are trying to redefine the eons old parameters of a foundational institution. That is the problem I have with "gay marriage." Marriage is what it is, a union between a man and a woman. (Though not according to Wikipedia, they call it a "personal union of individuals".) The conflict between those who believe this and those who don't will continue for the foreseeable future. Heck, we haven't even come up with a word for a man and woman living together as a couple (anyone remember POSSLQ?) since it became commonplace a generation ago.
