I don't think so, if you look at FRO, which has wireless arrangements with BEL, it didn't sparkle. The ATI proposal/rumor makes more sense than the GTE deal, though, if you believe BEL wants an increased wireless presence (and for less cost, unless you place a high value on GTE's internet and wireless properties). If you believe a company would like to look at cable, ADLAC is a prime target.

GTE's not going to get rid of their existing wireless and internet properties, which they might have to if the BEL/GTE merger continues. You can interpret that anyway you wish, but it would make the real cost of acquiring GTE excessive, I think. Analysts have said the GTE deal wouldn't get approved until 2000 anyway.
