12:36 ET Sector Watch: Biotech : -- Technical -- Sector (BTK) under substantial pressure throughout the session and only recently after
testing the previous recovery high at 646 has the selling abated. Impressive performance over the last week (16% gain at today's high) has
left the group overextended technically suggesting potential for additional sideways to lower trade over the next few sessions to work off this
posture. Leading the way lower thus far are: IDPH (-5.4%), CORR (-5.3%), MEDI (-5.2%) AFFX (-5.1%) and GILD (-4.8%).

12:23 ET CIENA Corp (CIEN) 60.44 +0.88: -- Update -- Dow Jones reporting that Ciena reaffirmed its Q3 guidance of $0.15-0.18 and
FY01 guidance of $0.72-0.75.

12:20 ET Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 18.10 +1.08: -- Update -- Hearing from sources at CSFB that the firm is not as optimistic as some
regarding SUNW; apparently believes that business looked better in the first two weeks of May but then dropped off again.

12:14 ET SunGard Data (SDS) 55.90 -5.60 (-9.1%): -- Update -- Merrill Lynch out in defense of issue following Robertson Stephens
downgrade this morning; notes that competitor's downward adjustment to estimates simply brought firm's numbers down to the rest of street.

12:02 ET Intel (INTC) 29.72 -0.01: -- Update -- Hearing that Salomon Smith Barney semi analyst Jon Joseph made positive comments on
Intel; said he is maintaining his estimates at $6.35 bln revenues and $0.13 EPS for the June qtr; also believes company will maintain $7.5 bln
capex guidance - actually believes they are trending above this pace now and will have to work down to the $7.5 bln figure.

11:52 ET EarthLink Ntwrk (ELNK) 14.32 -0.08: Reuters reports that the head of Terra Lycos (TRLY) stated today that company
planned to buy specialized Web sites in the U.S. this year but was not interested in entering the U.S. access market. Comment suggests that
company is not interested in a bid for ELNK, which Reuters reported last month was in talks to be acquired by Terra. The May 10 report
also mentioned CNET (CNET) as a possible acquisition candidate.

11:49 ET Juniper Networks (JNPR) 45.88 -0.70 (-1.5%): Ericsson (ERICY 6.14 -0.26) announces a breakthrough frame agreement to
provide its comprehensive IP backbone network, which includes Juniper Networks IP backbone technology, to France Telecom.
